Our Services
Friendly Visits
All friendly visits are personally tailored to each Client-Volunteer match. We pair up a Client who is interested in having a friendly visitor come to their home, generally once per week but can vary based on what is best for the Client, with a Volunteer who has a compatible personality and interests.
Transportation
Clients call at least 2-3 days prior to their appointments to schedule transportation. Caleb serves a variety of transportation needs such as: medical, veterinary, hair salon, shopping, visting, etc... Volunteers utilize their own vehicle for client transportation.
Telephone Check-Ins
Clients receive daily phone calls from a caring volunteer. These phone calls are scheduled for the same time each day, thus providing reassurance to the senior that there is someone local that is checking in on them and their needs.
Light Chores
Raking, shoveling, and gardening are some of the chores that are provided by our capable volunteers.
Light Housekeeping
To help our clients maintain their home environment volunteers provide basic assistance with vacuuming, dusting, dishes, etc...
Pet Food Supplies
For the companions in our senior's life we provide supplemental pet food once every other month. We help to feed dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and fish.
Surplus Food Delivery
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a state-run program that provides seniors, 60 and older, with 2 boxes of food every other month. The state of NH requires proof of ID, income, and address. Either the Caleb office or the state office (1-800-578-2050) can let you know if you fall within the income guidelines. For homebound seniors Caleb Volunteers can deliver the food to your home!
Reading/Letter Writing
A volunteer will go to a client's home to help with basic paperwork, mail, or reading aloud to them.
Computer Instructions
For clients who desire to delve into the technological age they can meet a volunteer here at the Caleb office, at their home, or a local library for basic computer/e-mail instruction.
