The Caleb Corner

Holiday Auction
This year’s Holiday Auction, held on November 24, was very successful with over $4,200.00 raised to support the Caleb Interfaith Caregiver’s mission, which is to provide services to the elderly of our area to help them remain “independent as possible for as long as possible.” We would like to thank all of you who donated items to bid, those who served on the auction committee, those of you who attended the auction, and The Mountain View Grand for hosting this year’s auction. We appreciate all of you!
Laconia Savings Community Service Award
Annually Laconia Savings Bank Corporators recognize a person, or couple, who has demonstrated outstanding acts of volunteerism or exemplary community involvement, at the bank’s annual Corporators’ Dinner. At this year’s dinner, three New Hampshire residents were named recipients of Laconia Savings Bank’s Year 2002 Corporator’s Community Service Award. We, at The Caleb Group, are proud to have Bobbie Gaudes, the Program Director, as one of the recipients of this award. Bobbie is well deserving of this award for her work on recruiting and training volunteers, as well as, handling all the aspects of fund-raising. Along with a beautiful plaque, Bobbie also received a check in the amount of $1,000.00 to be given to her favorite charity. You guessed it; the money was donated to The Caleb Group in her name. Congratulations and Thank You Bobbie!
Volunteers
Needed
We are, currently, in DESPERATE need of new volunteers to serve the increasing number of elders who are seeking help. We are asking you to please consider volunteering for the Caleb Group. Just one hour a week can make a difference in the life of an elder. Volunteers are especially needed in the Groveton and Littleton areas. Interfaith volunteers currently help over 200 elders in eight towns. Everyday elders receive friendly visits, phone calls, chore services, and transportation from Caleb Volunteers. If you are looking for that special holiday gift, consider the gift of giving to others. For information on becoming a part of the Caleb Interfaith Volunteer Program, please call the Caleb Interfaith office at 837-9179.
Happy Holidays
The Caleb Office will be closed from December 23 through December 27, and on January 1, 2003. If any Caleb Care Receivers need to schedule rides during that time, please call the office before December 20. The office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bobbie and I wish you all a Happy Holiday Season, and a Joyous New Year!
