 Pasta Supper

A Pasta Supper sponsored by the Community Baptist Church, of Whitefield, to benefit The Caleb Group was very successful. On behalf of all Caleb Carereceivers and Caleb Staff, a heartfelt thank you goes out to the bakers, cooks, servers, and all those who attended the supper.

            New Volunteers

We welcome newly trained Caleb Volunteers, Al Heinen of Lancaster, and Edna Langlois of Groveton. We thank them both, for offering their time to help older adults in our communities.

 Computer Training Center

The Computer Training Center, located at Highland House in Whitefield, is available to older adults who are interested in learning how to use computers and the Internet.  You may call the Caleb office at 837-9179 to set up an appointment for a lesson.

 

Caleb Concert

The annual Caleb Concert, an Interfaith Festival of Sharing, will be held on May 4, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Whitefield. The concert will begin at 3:00.  There will be a free-will offering to benefit the Caleb Group.

 Commodity Food

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program delivery will be on May 29. Highland House Delivery, in Whitefield, is at 9:30am.  All Saints Church Delivery, in Lancaster, is at 1200pm.

The food packages usually contain the following foods: Fruit: 100% unsweetened juice, juice cocktail, canned fruits packed in their own juice or light syrup such as pears, peaches, and applesauce. Vegetable: canned vegetables such as: green beans, carrots, and tomatoes, peas, corn and potatoes. Grain: unsweetened cereals, rice and pasta. Milk: nonfat dry milk, evaporated milk, and cheese. Protein: beef, chicken, pork, canned salmon, tuna, peanut butter and dried beans.

 Volunteers: Always Caring – Always Sharing

April 27-May 3 is National Volunteer Week.  On behalf of over 250 Caleb Carereceivers, many, many thanks to Caleb Volunteers who gave over 4,300   hours of time, and drove over 35,000 miles in 2002. “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Helen Keller
