Caleb Corner

By Julie Hall, Volunteer Coordinator

 Always Caring – Always Sharing

Caleb Interfaith Volunteers gave 335 hours in the month of September helping their elderly neighbors with visits, chores, phone calls and transportation. Caleb Volunteer Drivers were on the road 55 times last month, taking care-receivers to their doctor’s appointments, the grocery store, hair salon, bank, post office and pharmacy. Caleb Care-receivers are visited or called every week by caring volunteers. A task as simple as hammering a nail is, for some elderly, impossible to do. Caleb volunteers are here to hammer nails, and much more, to help older adults maintain an independent lifestyle.

 Commodity Food

The delivery date for Commodity Supplemental Food at Highland House in Whitefield, and All Saints Church, in Lancaster, will be November 10. Please note that this is an earlier date, and that it is on a Monday instead of a Thursday this time due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Please call the Caleb Office at 837-9179 if you have any questions.

Building Community – One Spirit at a Time

We welcome Toni Martirani, of Guildhall, as a new volunteer. We thank Toni for her willingness to give volunteer time to our communities. Together we can continue showing kindness by helping others.
